About me
I am a lover of life who aims at staying herself through it all with a smile on!
Meet Jasleyv
I enjoy the little blessings and pleasures of life. I am an undeniable quality time fan and call me stubborn if you may! I will wear it proudly for I believe that our core memories are those little moments where the little details happened. I am talking about an unexpected hug from a two years old child, pointing out odd shape in the clouds, the butterflies in your belly when looking into your lover’s eyes or just a walk by the ocean. Using the famous words of Maya Angelou: “Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take but by the moments that take your breath away“. Living is about the daily excitement we create, the changes that we go through with the courage to make a triage of what we can influence, change and adapt to.
I became Jasleyv F. Metellus by saying “I do” to my long life sweetheart. The one and only who stole my heart from a very young age “too young” would say my parents (lol). Regardless of our long history, we are far from being the perfect couple but it is my fairy tale. I am hoping for the moments of laughter that we will probably have years from today about our stubbornness and craziness. In fact, the very first poem that I have written was about him. When I read it now, I can’t help but laugh really hard to the transparent innocence shown, yet still feel a warm hug to the blessing of the truth it bears.
I have been blessed by becoming the mother of two jewels, two amazing and beautiful children (pain in my neck at times): a sweet and big hearted boy and a strong-willed baby girl. They have brought joy and fun in my life to last an eternity! When I thought I was ready to have kids, other little human beings to care for and guide though life; little did I know that in reality they would have taught me so much about life and myself (and it’s just the beginning). I would do anything and everything for them. This is why I try my hardest to be a child with them at times, and protect their childhood.
I am from a beautiful island with warm sand, fresh juicy coconut, grilled seafood and music from live troubadour musicians with the rhythm of drums right on the beaches. I will be sharing lots about it with you. I have made the United States my home for years now. While exploring its beautiful sights, I never fail to be amazed by how many wonders there are to discover and how much diversity there is to enjoy.
Like an ocean, life will bring you smooth and enraged waves at times. It will take you on a sky ride to the spotlight or might bury you deep into sorrows. Whether you like it or not, things will happen to you, to your loved ones and will cause you pain and anger. Remember, all these events and emotions are just creating a cocoon around you. You have to take matter into your own hands, learn your lessons, grow and morph into the beautiful butterfly that you were born to be and venture into the wonders of life. As written by my favorite author Paulo Coelho in The Alchemist: “The Secret of Happiness lies in looking at all the wonders of the world and never forgetting the two drops of oil in the spoon.”
